Rick Bishop
Rick Bishop is a composer, bassist, and guitarist. He is a member of the Colby College music faculty and the Maine touring artist roster. He has released 3 recordings as leader, and written the book "Applied Diatonics" for the electric bass. His music has been featured on MPBN, Bass Player magazine, on Channels 5 and 10 television. He has been teaching guitar and bass at the Al Corey Music Center since 1981. Steve Fotter
Steve Fotter has given private guitar lessons for twenty years. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Maine, Augusta, with an Associates Degree in popular and jazz music.

Steve teaches all styles of guitar such as rock, country, jazz, fingerstyle and also teaches reading, theory, scales and tablature. He accepts students of all ages, beginner through intermediate and can be reached at 426-9225

Juan Rodriguez

Juan Rodriguez is a classical guitarist from Connecticut. He studied music particularly with the late Joseph Iadone, Lutenist, an important pupil of composer Paul Hindemith.

Although he specializes in Early Music, he has also taught Jazz, Popular music, etc. for many years. Music theory is emphasized, but lessons can be tailored to suite the students needs. He teaches Guitar, Bass, Flute, Saxophone, and general Theory for all musicians, including Piano.

Intermediate and advanced students are welcome. Small group lessons are possible.

Louise Foxwell
Louise Foxwell of Skowhegan received an A.A.S. degree in Music Performance-Bassoon form Onondaga Junior College and attended Syracuse University. She obtained her B.S. in Secondary Education with a Concentration in Instrumental Music-Woodwinds, and a minor in Psychology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She currently performs with the Farmington Symphony Orchestra, the Kennebec Performing Arts Company, The Quintessential Winds (a woodwind quintet), the Skow-Town Big Band, and the Renaissance Winds (a woodwind trio), among others. She teaches bassoon, clarinet, oboe and flute at Al Corey's Music Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment, and may be reached at 474-6894
 


Piano
 

Ron Marlowe
Pianist, performed on TV shows with Johnny Carson, Mike Douglas, the late Milton Berle and Gary Moore, as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh and Dallas Symphonies. Mr. Marlowe taught as a special instructor at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia for ten years, and specialized privately in performance and college preparation study for students. He is accompanist to instrumentalists, and teaches privately at the Boden Music Studios (Liberty), Lincoln Academy (Newcastle) and the Al Corey Music Center (Waterville). Mr. Marlowe accompanies the Suzuki Association of Maine in Concert, the Kennebec Valley Music Company on Tour, and is the organist for the Christian Science Church (Damariscotta). His arrangements for two pianos of Esurientes (Bach's Magnificat) and Wedding Day at Troldhaugen (Grieg) are published by Theodore Presser Publishers, Philadelphia, PA.

Deborah Cook
Coloratura Soprano

 Deborah Cook has recorded the title role in the opera "Dinorah" [Meyerbeer] with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Opera Rara, London; Prascovia in "L'E'Toile du Nord" [Meyerbeer], Opera Rara, London; Naiad in "Ariadne auf Naxos" [Strauss] Sir Georg Solti, London Symphony Orchestra, London.

 Some of the many operatic roles performed by her in major opera houses throughout  the world include:  Zerbinetta, Ariadne auf Naxos; Lucia, Lucia di Lammermoor; Constanze, Abduction from the Seraglio; Queen of the Night, Magic Flute; Leila, Pearl Fishers; Gilda, Rigoletto; Adina, Elixir of Love ; Fiakermilli, Arabella; Guilietta, I Capuletti ed i Montecchi; Olympia, Tales of Hoffman; Despina, Cosi fan Tutte.  The roles she created include Rachel, We Come to the River by Hans Werner Henze, Royal Opera House Covent Garden,  London; Angel of Bright Future, The Confidence Man,  by George  Rochberg, Sante Fe Opera, New Mexico; The Soprano, ...die Siebte,  by Anton Ruppert,  Bayerische Staatsoper - Munich, Germany.

 She has sung with numerous major orchestras in concert, among them the Philadelphia Orchestra; San Francisco Symphony; BBC Symphony Orchestra; Orchestre de Paris; Hong Kong Philharmonic; Dresden Philharmonic ,  BBC Symphony Orchestra; Australian Broadcasting Orchestra - Sydney; Melbourne and Adelaide;  and the Gewandhaus Orchester Leipzig, and with some of  the greatest conductors of our time, including Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson-Thomas, David Atherton, Nello Santi, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Sir Georg Solti, Sir Charles MacKerras, Sir Charles Groves, Hans Vonk, and  Jesus Lopez-Cobos.

 Deborah Cook  made her debut at the Glyndeborne Opera  as Zerbinetta in 1972, and her debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in 1976 as Gilda.  She lived in Germany from 1972 through 1985 and during that time travelled extensively throughout  Europe, concertizing and performing opera, lieder, and recording for radio productions.

 Deborah Cook  taught voice in the United States at the Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges [PA] as Instructor of Voice; at the Westtown School [PA], in London, and in Germany   She has sung as Cantor in several synagogues, in Philadelphia, New York and Maine.  She has  returned to Leipzig, Germany to teach  master classes in German lieder at the Opera School, and has sung at the University of Orono, ME in faculty concerts with Prof. of Piano, Philip Silver.  The soprano resides now in Liberty, Maine, teaches privately, gives lectures and concertizes.  Miss Cook is married to pianist and well known teacher, Ronald Marlowe.
